At Aurora, we’re building the technology that will transform the future of mobility, making it safer and more efficient to move people and goods wherever they need to go. Our core product, the Aurora Driver, is a self-driving system designed to operate everything from people-moving sedans to goods-moving trucks. The Aurora Driver utilizes a common hardware and software core for both trucking and ride-hailing, allowing it to benefit from the collective experience and scale of the combined fleet. Its powerful, multi-modal sensing suite provides 360°coverage at both short and long ranges.
Aurora Horizon is an autonomous driving solution that is designed specifically for—and will be provided as a service to—carriers and private fleets. The road network driveable by Aurora-powered trucks is designed to start in Texas, then rapidly expand throughout the sunbelt, North America, and beyond. Anchored in industry-leading technology and deep partnerships with leading truck manufacturers, we expect Aurora Horizon will transform the logistics industry. As we focus on the technical development and capabilities of our Aurora Driver, we rely upon the deep expertise of our partners to assist in the development and commercial deployment of our products. We’ve forged strategic partnerships with leading transportation companies—including ride-hailing network Uber, truck manufacturers PACCAR and Volvo Trucks, tier-one automotive supplier Denso, and the world’s largest automaker Toyota—setting us up to deliver the Aurora Driver in both trucks and passenger vehicles.
The Aurora Safety Case Framework assesses the entire development life cycle of our vehicles, allowing us to accelerate our path to deployment and determine when self-driving vehicles are acceptably safe for public roads. With a strong belief that transparency is an important part of delivering self-driving vehicles, we’re the only operating AV company that has publicly shared a portion of its Safety Case Framework.
