ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions has developed electronic technology that replaces obsolete #2 lock and key in traffic cabinets. These updated locking solutions provide control of who can access a traffic cabinet, and report audit data of when the cabinet was accessed and by whom. There are off-line intelligent key versions as well as on-line real-time powered locking solutions that are card access controlled or with a mobile device. This provides a much improved means of securing traffic infrastructure for both physical and cyber security protection as well as contractor management. These are compliant with the new NEMA TS-40008 standard. Attendees will be able to interact with demonstration hardware to see how intelligent keys interact with intelligent locks, providing access to the cabinet to only authorized keyholders. Also attendees will utilize card access or a mobile device to real-time unlock a traffic cabinet door. They will also be able to see how the real-time lock provide status of door position and secure/unsecure status of the lock itself. They will also be able to try the same intelligent key technology on an electronic padlock.

Blyncsy leverages the power of artificial intelligence and crowdsourced visual imagery from dash cameras to provide automated near real-time situational awareness of the condition of roadways. This technology collects street-level imagery from over 800,000 accessible dash cameras nationwide and assesses the condition of assets in the images in as little as 60 seconds of a vehicle passing. Blyncsy can automatically inspect roadways and conduct asset inventory, and directly update public feeds and notify relevant authorities so that information is shared with road users in a timely fashion. With a real-time view of road assets including their condition and location, cities and state DOTs are able to increase safety and efficiency for drivers, pedestrians, construction workers, and transportation employees, as well as provide critical data to advance the continuing development of autonomous vehicles and save significant costs from performing resource-intensive manual inspections.

Blyncsy will conduct near real-time image requests for any section of interstate highway across the United States upon request. Any attendee can request detection from a specific location, Blyncsy will gather the crowdsourced imagery and make the results available to attendees within one hour.

Our drone LiDAR technology allows us to collect topographic data along roadways for design purposes, bypassing the necessity to gain access to individual properties. This streamlined approach saves valuable time and reduces costs associated with roadway projects. Our drone and LiDAR systems adhere to the NDAA and Blue UAS standards. This certification confirms that all components and software are made and designed in America. Additionally, they often operate offline to mitigate potential cybersecurity threats. This ensures full compliance with the respected TxDOT UAS program guidelines.

We plan to showcase interactive LiDAR datasets, allowing participants to see the data we collect firsthand. This engaging experience will highlight LiDAR technology's capabilities and provide a tangible understanding of its applications and potential.

The unprecedented inflation impacting our traditional maintenance cost of asphalt and cement along with BIG loads from much more truck traffic, heavier EVs on our pavements coming and even the change in recent years of our weather has impacted infrastructure resilience & maintenance operations scrambling in terms of budgets to impact preservation and ways to reduce the carbon impact given transportations role in contributing emissions. APPROVED BY TX DOT IN 2023 - Approved Products, Special Specification needed by TxDOT District for use - 23-3232. Unprecedented ROI & creates 50 year road base for rural or urban roads. WHO HAS ENOUGH BUDGET TO TRULY FIX THEIR FAILING ROADS? By that we know roads need to be rebuilt when physical inspection and long proven performance testing indicates patch repairs and mill and overlay will provide only temporary (3-5 years) improvement. Then return and repeat or eventually rebuild the road by proven Full Depth Reclamation techniques to increase the life cycle to 10-15 years. Instead of repeated short-term fixes that contribute to congestion, less safety for our workforce, inefficient use of resources and environmental impacts due to greater emissions (both CO2 & GhH). Instead use a material that is proven to create the perpetual pavement by creating a road base coarse of greater strength & ductility. The solution has been installed by local contractors in Texas & 6 western states following standard FDR practices. Come by and see this FDR solution that successfully completed the AASHTO Product Evaluation and Audit Solutions process under their Unique, Patented, Proprietary Products (UP3) technical service program that virtually all DOTs are active members. Parakeet™ is an Audible Information Device (AID) designed for custom messaging with a built-in speaker and microphone. When roads and sidewalks are closed, Parakeet allows up to 60-seconds of pre-recorded instructions to the alternate path for visually impaired pedestrians. The device recording is motion activated, responding to pedestrians as they approach. Motion detection is customizable, allowing for longer or shorter fields of detection as needed. Additionally, the built-in microphone automatically adjusts its decibel level based on surrounding noise throughout the day. In compliance with MUTCD Section 6C.03 as part of providing audible information devices for pedestrians with visual disabilities.

The PSS Parakeet Audible Information Device (AID) demonstration will allow booth visitors to experience AID message delivery in real-time. Students will receive a brief flight lesson in our mobile flight simulator trailer. Students are educated on how to operate an aircraft’s rudders, throttle controls, and yoke to move the aircraft down the runway, takeoff, and reach a controlled altitude of 1500ft. The purpose of this mobile flight simulator trailer is to introduce the aviation industry to youth in rural and historically disadvantage communities who lack the access and opportunity to explorer careers in the aviation industry.

Sitting in the pilot’s seat of a simulated Cessna 172 aircraft viewing a three-screen monitor, students are receiving their equipment and flight instructions through their headsets. If the students are inspired by their experience and listening to the roar of the propeller engine, we provide them information and connect them to free discovery flight opportunities and aviation scholarships.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as "drones" are low altitude aerial assets that can perform a series of tasks. UAS can assist in missions from Tactical Situations to Infrastructure Inspections and everything in between. All our of unmanned aircraft have the capability to live stream situational awareness for any situation. The UAS program is made of up 6 divisions that operate UAS, each with a different primary mission set. Aircraft Operations oversees the program ensuring compliance, training and maintenance. Criminal Investigations uses the technology for overwatch, tactical support and investigative work. Highway Patrol use the advanced camera technology to document fatal crash scenes across the state. The Texas Rangers are currently primarily tasked with border security as well as tactical situations. Intelligence & Counterterrorism conducts infrastructure inspections and Training Operations uses drones to document and record department training events. Currently the department has 207, FAA certificated, Remote Pilots and 259 unmanned aircraft systems. After obtaining their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, department personnel attend a 5 day initial RPIC school where they are instructed in department UAS policy and learn how to safely operate the aircraft. This technology does not sit on the shelf collecting dust. DPS is not only one of the largest public safety UAS programs in the country but probably has more operational time than any other agency. In 2021 the department conducted 26,079 flights for a total of 5170.4 flight hours with UAS. A large portion of this flight time was OLS related with over 13,000 flights and 2487 border patrol assists. In 2021 the UAS program accounted for locating 3093 suspects and assisted in the arrest of 1761 individuals. Additionally, using unmanned aircraft, multiple drug seizures occurred with a value of $751,750.00. Full statistics on the program can be found under the reports page.

The demo area can provide several drone platforms from small to large, with the largest being a fixed wing airplane that has a wingspan of seven feet. Display screens can showcase videos of the Department using various drones during missions as well as live video of the drones located at the demo site.
