Jorge Riveros is a Deputy Director for the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department and previously served as the City of San Diego’s Transportation Director. His passion lies in urban transportation and mobility, and his particular interest in the ITS and Smart Mobility sectors stems from his work with several progressive transportation agencies around the country, his work with major universities and research institutions, and the opportunity to have researched and deployed emerging technologies, such as connected and automated vehicles, with some of the leading experts in the industry. He has served on various national, state, and local transportation committees, boards, and professional organizations, and has a successful track record of working with national, state, and local partners, public officials, stakeholders, citizens and other public groups. He is an openminded collaborator, passionate about the quick and ever-changing transportation industry, eagerly embracing progress and change, and finding ways to implement solutions that promote safety, accessibility, and equity for all who choose from a variety of mobility options.
